Bh my freezer is stocked to the max for entire Tishrei. I still want to make 2-3 cakes. Can I put it into the fridge instead of the freezer till next week?

Baked goods should never be refrigerated unless they’re in danger of going moldy in humid weather. Refrigerator temperatures are, ironically, the temperatures at which baked goods go stale the fastest.

As soon as you start taking things out of the freezer to defrost (challah and soup for shabbos?) you'll have a bit more room in the freezer for something else.

Lol. I get a special kick every time I take something out of the freezer ready to use for y"t. My mother and mil are both busy all y"t in the kitchen and worrying what they still have to cook for tomorrow's meal the entire y"t. And to say that this is my pet peeve is an understatement! Even chol homoed I hate having the pressure with all kids under your feet, "what are we serving tonight" "I need ingredients".
