I think you would feel most comfortable in Yerushalayim. Easier transition for the children. There is a chassidish/heimeshe school in Yerushalayim called Bnos hadassa.

I am very similar to you in terms of hashkafa and we are also seriously considering moving to eretz yisroel.
Which neighborhood did you settle in?
Is there a reason you chose beit shemesh not yerushalayim?
How much is a semi attached style house in gimmel?
(I am from Lakewood so an apartment would be a very hard adjustment cuz we need our privacy etc )
