I'm still cutting my kids nails , oldest is 11 . They can't do it on their own, how do I teach them to cut it? Scissors? Clippers? And what age is normal?

At 14 my daughter started doing it on her own but still sometimes asks me to do it for her. Actually it might have been 13 the first time, when she was in camp.

My almost 6 year old recently started cutting his own fingernails with a nail clipper. He has cut his left hand nails in the past but just started being able to do the right hand also.
I have no idea what is normal and actually was surprised that he did it himself.

Around age 10 , my boys have stopped asking me to do it and they figured it out on their own.

I'm amazed that kids ask their parents to do it. I never asked. I considered it torture! One day I started picking them and never looked back lol.
