Which do you believe lasts longer?
2 vaccine doses or natural immunity after having covid?
We know they both wane eventually.
How long do you believe they last?

Ooh, science by anonymous internet poll of a group who largely has little science education. This is bound to be good.

Why was this necessary? It’s an interesting question, and it’s not really being discussed.

For those who accept science in terms of peer reviewed studies, the recommendation is for at least one shot even if one has had COVID as that seems to provide the most robust protection.
Others whi rely on Dr. google can continue with their horse worming protocols. 😂😂🐎🐑🐏 There are literally no studies indicating that it is effective. The initial tentative study was discredited and withdrawn.

I have had covid more than a year ago and still have antibodies.
My husband had covid a year and a half ago and still has antibodies.
Same for many many family members, friends, relatives, neighbors, and others in my commmunity.
That's more than the vaccine can provide.

I posted the following a few days ago:
Quote: | Finally, a large study about natural immunity to Covid. Headline:
COVID survivors with natural immunity at low risk for reinfection or severe symptoms, study finds
From the article in justthenews.com:
“Reinfections had 90% lower odds of resulting in hospitalization or death than primary infections,”the researchers said. “…Reinfections were rare and were generally mild, perhaps because of the primed immune system after primary infection.”
“Accordingly, for a person who has already had a primary infection, the risk of having a severe reinfection is only approximately 1% of the risk of a previously uninfected person having a severe primary infection,” the study concluded.

I had covid almost a year ago. I tested for antibodies 2 months later. When I tested just now again, my antibodies TRIPLED. I bh have a very very high amount.
Maybe I had it again or maybe I was exposed multiple times and built up immunity? Who knows?
If there is one thing we know is that "science" doesn't know.

So I voted I think they’re equal, but now I’m regretting my vote. I think it’s really case dependent. As someone above posted, she and her husband still have antibodies a long time later. However, less than a year later, I have no antibodies.

So that's about the same as the vaccine.
Here's the thing.
Natural immunity requires infection, which carries a risk of a whole lot of illness, hospitalization, or death. And who knows what long term consequences. I'm not sure why anyone would volunteer for it. So even if it were a whole lot better, it wouldn't really matter.

You know that horse worming protocol won a Nobel prize and has stood up to almost 100 years of research?

Serious, non-sarcastic question. Why?
Put aside your concerns about side effects or efficacy for the moment. If you knew the vaccine to be safe and effective against a disease that has killed more than 5 million people, whose long term effects are unknown, why would you have a problem with semi-annual boosters?

I would never CHOOSE to get covid. Of course not. I happened to be so sick when I had it! But people did get sick with covid so it really is not scientific to deny natural immunity, is it?
So I think a one size fits all makes no sense. People with no immunity should get immunized and people with immunity shouldn't. Most countries recognize natural immunity. Why doesn't Mr. Fauci?

Vaccines long term effects are also unknown. So much so, that Pfizer won't release the data for another 55 years. So it's up to every person to make their decision based on age, health and other factors.

For people with parasitic infections.
Not for people with covid.

Millions of people cured with Ivermectin.
But continue to deny reality along with claiming a man can give birth.

So I think a one size fits all makes no sense. People with no immunity should get immunized and people with immunity shouldn't. Most countries recognize natural immunity. Why doesn't Mr. Fauci? |
He does. However, the highest level of immunity is provided by vaccine plus natural immunity. Additionally, there are questions about the durability of natural immunity.
Quote: | At the 2:20 timestamp, [Sanjay] Gupta said that an Israeli study found that natural immunity provided great protection.
He [Gupta] continued to say: “So, as we talk about vaccine mandates, I get calls all the time, people say ‘I’ve already had COVID, I’m protected.’ And now the study says maybe even more protected than the vaccine alone. Should they also get the vaccine? How do you make the case to them?”
Fauci responded: “You know, that’s a really good point Sanjay. I don’t have a really firm answer for you on that. That’s something that we’re going to have to discuss regarding the durability of the response. The one thing the paper from Israel didn’t tell you is whether or not as high as the protection is with natural infection, what’s the durability compared to the durability of the vaccine.”
“So it is conceivable that you got infected, you’re protected, but you may not be protected for an indefinite amount of time,” Fauci said. “So, I think that is something that we need to sit down and discuss seriously because you very appropriately pointed out, it is an issue and there could be an argument saying what you said.” |
