I wanted to wax my sideburns as a teen too. my mother also didn't let me do it. So I shaved them. No it didn't grow back thicker. No it didn't itch when it grew. No I didn't get pimples. I continued to do so til I didn't care anymore. Not a big deal, it's her body, and it's not against halacha. so in my humble opinion you should let her do what she wants.

I still use Jolene bleach on my sideburns - tell her to try that first. It really works.

Please do NOT do this. It's awful. I did it for years before my mother finally took me for electrolysis. It ruins the skin and looks weird.

Help your DD!!! A teen girl cannot walk around feeling that way!

Electrolysis is most preferred, that is definitely the way to go, but waxing grows back finer and softer.

this is not a myth! It happened to me! Hair on the waxed area used to be extremely fine and barely noticeable. after waxing the first time, it is now thicker and very noticeable Sad

Same thing happened to me. Apparently it happens to some, and not to all. But either way, since it does happen to quite a few, a child should be told about the possibility before making a choice.

I strongly recommend taking her for electrolysis. She will appreciate this so much years down the line.
