Also remembered about Sophie Hannah's Poirot books, but was never so keen on them. I like her other books but didn't feel these ones were as good as the original Christie. The first book is The Monogram Murders. Think there's 3 or 4 by now.

I liked the Sophie Hannah Poirots pretty well, as you just can't get enough of them
Has anyone read any of her other books? Clean? Scary? etc????
How about Nero Wolfe? I find them pretty clean and enjoy them a lot.
I've been binging on Ellery Adams, have several of her series. Although the church ones... I read one & I think I'll pass...
Amanda Flower is also nice

Murder most unladylike series by Robin Stevens - these are really kids (teen) books but modelled on agatha christie and take place in the same time period. I really enjoyed them.

Thank you all so much!
To the poster who thought my relative might also be Googling: NO CHANCE! She's a cool lady but her tech skills are negligible
ETA - I have just ordered "The Thursday Murder Club" by Richard Osman!

I came across the name Enola Holmes (younger sister of Sherlock) in a crossword puzzle. Looked up the author, Nancy Springer, and I see other series the covers of which I would not take into my house. So can anyone tell me if the Enola series is clean?

Clean? Some look like they may be of the horror genre (kind of like Mary Higgins Clark [phew couldn't think of her name for a minute] whom I find somewhat nightmare inducing...)

I also like this genre and have a hard time finding great reads.
Here are my two favorite cozy reads.
The Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout
The Bernie Rhodenbarr Series by Lawrence Block.
Did anyone else enjoy these?

Quote: | There's the Sidney Chambers series by James Runcie. The detective is an Anglican priest. Each book is composed of a few short stories. | I like very much that they're more like novelettes - less likely to keep me from going to sleep.
However I'm a little uncomfortable with the Xian theology, although it's only a sprinkling. How do others feel about it?

Def NOT what OP said she is looking for! I do not recommend (for the OP).
Def recommend the Miss Polifax series.
