Did this ever happen to you? Someone who doesn’t sew and asked you to sew it for them, say this to you? If it’s so easy, why don’t you do it?? 
If you don’t know how to do it, how do you know it’s easy??

Frequently! I don't do alterations or anything of that nature, but I've had people whine, plead, and actually berate me because they needed something in a hurry.
No, honey, I'm not going to risk ruining your expensive outfit because I'm not experienced in working with the fabric or construction of the garment.

TBH I think we all minimize work we don’t do ourselves, whether it’s house painting, house cleaning, electrical work, child care, speech writing, therapy, or anything else. Listen to all the threads about the “outrageous” rates charged by cleaners, babysitters, and so on.
