so I tried this recipe and my family really enjoyed it.
http://video.bravotv.com/playe.....46028

-chicken cutlets cut into bite sized pieces, seasoned with salt and pepper
-cook some whole wheat spaghetti
-while is is boiling, sautee chicken pieces in a bit of oil till nearly done.
-add to chicken: red onion sliced, red bell pepper sliced, snap peas (I also added mushrooms)
-at this point pasta should be done. drain it and pour it into chicken/veggie sautee pan.
-drizzle some teriyaki sauce over the whole pasta/chicken/veggie mixture and stir.
-serve- (it looks really pretty with all the dif. colors)

and your done! it's really easy (even I successfully made it!) and it was a dif. taste than what we usually ate so it was refreshing.

Wow. You must have big people in your family.
My kids wouldn't touch w.w. spaghetti.
Or cooked peppers.
Or cooked onions.

Maybe they would eat sauteed chicken breast Sad

it's a pepper that's red, as compared to yellow or green or a mix

No a bell pepper is not just any red pepper. They are rounder. They are a variety of peppers. Sometimes called hot house peppers.

But you could use a reg. pepper in the recipe. They tend to be a lot cheaper than the bell peppers.

I thought a red pepper wasn't a bell pepper!! Guess we'll just stick to what I"m used to. I honestly never saw a bell pepper.

my red peppers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes...if I buy Holland Pepper they're usually more round-if it's a regular kind it's usually longish

actually the people in my house are quite small- they're 3 1/2 but I have always given them whole wheat pasta and bread so they're used to it.
my son loves cooked onions (loves mushrooms too.) and other veggies.
I guess it also depends on what they're used to....

my dh wont touch whole wheat stuff so for him, I made it with regular pasta.

as for the bell pepper, I always thought is was the shorter, rounder red pepper (the more expensive one)- I think they taste sweeter. but it doesn't make a dif. which one u use.

Rivky, I'm glad u liked it.

And I love top chef. I watch it on you tube though.
