My sheitelmacher told me to use a cheap shampoo like Suave since it rinses out very well.

cheap shampoo strips the color and makes the sheitel oxidize much quicker. you need to use a good quality shampoo that is meant for color treated hair.

They also leave deposits on the hair that build up over time and need to be stripped every so often using a clarifying shampoo.

I use suave/vo5 on my virgin hair wigs. I use purple toning shampoo on my color treated wigs (various shades of ashy blonde)
