I meant it isn’t true that the industry is dead.

I pay nearly 50 percent tax, and full tuition and camp, as well as help at home, but bh it allows me to do chessed with the rest. I am actually trying to work less in order to be home a 'bit' more, and I am fine with the salary cut as a result.

I'm not a programmer. (I was trained as one, but I don't enjoy coding). I didn't start out in this specific role, I saw an opportunity and grabbed it. My background as a programmer is what allowed me to develop this role. I went from hourly to salary. Last year I got a really nice raise.
I have a niche job, not really transferable. I support a custom software. I don't want to out myself, sorry.
I work fulltime from home. 9-5 but it's very flexible. I can stop at 4 ,start at 7, take off 3 hours to go to a dr appointment and no one cares as long as my work doesn't pile up.

In this industry it depends on how much work you put in and how you treat customers.

Clinical social worker
Work 23 hours a week
Get paid 7000 shekel a month
15 vacation days a year which can be accrued
20 sick days a year which also roll over
I would love to get into a practice of private therapists, but that model doesn't exist in Israel and I'm not motivated enough to open a private practice.

SLP at a private (not from or Jewish)preschool - 70k for 26 hours a week, including a 6 week summer session (included in the 70K) , working with some very challenging children. Been there more than 25 years. huge amount of paperwork. Entire staff feels and are underpaid. Too many supervisors who get paid a lot but seemingly do nothing.
