Can chocolate chips be melted on a sterno

If I put chocolate chips on a sterno, will it melt? Will I get the same results as from a double boiler? How long might it take?

I don't know, but chocolate chips can be melted by putting them in a bag and then in hot water.

I would melt them in the microwave, and then keep them warm on the sterno

I need it for a party that's not in my house, so I don't have a microwave or stove.
