Does she watch movies/ tv? That’s generally what nightmares come from at that age.

She says she thinks about scary stuff - is she waking up crying or is she not able to fall asleep? For me, magnesium chelate helps my brain relax. Maybe talk to her doctor about safe things she can take that promote good sleep.

Treat for strep and pinworms even if it’s not showing up on testing.

I had the same with my daughter. She was not sleeping. We spoke before bedtime about how much we love her. And ways to soothe herself.
Put a shema under her pillow. Wrote her a note to read an hold when she wants to. Reading a light book until falls back asleep, getting a drink, thinking of a good memory or upcoming event like Chanukah party.
It was hard. It passed. Mostly ok now. (A year or so later)

This I had also a time like this and my mum did the secular version of this with incense species and stuff.
also tell her it is ok to talk about anxieties and to validate it.

So have her talk to you about what’s scaring her.

Teach her about how saying shma and hamalach hagoel brings good malachim to watch over her
did she hear or learn in school about wars(world war 2 or missles in israel etc- that can be very scary)
tell her she can keep a tehillim under her pillow
also I had a baby that cried unexpetedly at night and my father said to put a blade (knife) under the mattress (even a plastic knife)
I tell my kids that abba learns Torah and that protects us
and the mezuzas on our doors and the sfarim a home bring a special shmira to the house

This is so beautiful. I went through a trauma around that age and used to wake up with panic attacks (didn't really make the connection though) and my mother used to yell at me for waking her up

I also find telling them to go to the bathroom when that happens. Sometimes they just need to use the bathroom. Happens to me even as an adult.

Is there a pattern when she wakes up?
How many times a night?
It might be night terrors (which is different than nightmares)
