NYC has for decades had more renters than owners. This is true in many major urban metropolitan areas, and it makes sense that as urbanization increases, so too will the % of renters.

what about Rockland County?
and neighboring New Jersey?
Do those areas suffer the same fate as the rest of the USA in regards to homeownership/renting?
I've seen an increase in young couples buying homes

I don’t think the trend is as much in the Jewish communities because we tend to move around less because we have larger established families earlier. The people who rent when they could probably afford to buy is because they don’t want to be locked down to a location
