So basically we will be moving from our aparrtment to a bigger place and our newly married son will be moving into our place..
What tips can you give us to make the move less stressful and how can we save money on moving ?
(Like we decided we might as well leave the furniture and big stuff for the couple than schlep to get it out ... bit then we don't really need a whole moving truck so what can we do that it not cost a lot)
any other tips woud be greatly appreciated

OP Only leave your furniture if both your Son and DIL agree to that. She might not want your Furniture, and might want to put her own stamp on the apt. If you are moving to a larger apt. why wouldn't you want to have your large furniture with you?

no, they are actually happy with it as they dont want to spend a lot of money (they want to save for their future and we are the same type) so we figured leave the furniture there and no need to pay for moving it.. we might as well get free or second and from somewhere else and only pay for one delivery instead of two... (and I am the OP of the other second hand..thread if you figure )

OP, keep in mind that delivery of second hand furniture can sometimes add up to quite a bit. Esp if it’s coming from various different places.
If you are leaving all your furniture, what are you moving besides kitchen items?
You can rent your own truck and hire day Laborers to help if it’s just boxes and not anything delicate.

this was a few years ago where I remember gettting a free table and payed two africans with a truck to go to the house pick it up and bring it to me and all it cost was 50 dollars...
prices have most def. gone up by now but might still be worth it.
