Oh wow. This is so validating. At work they have commercial sprays in the hallway and I always kvetch about it. They keep telling me that I'm sensitive, everyone else is tolerating it. I tried telling them its air pollution and not good for their lungs even if they think they are fine with it....

Can someone talk about Reed sticks and if they work, if it is truly very light?
I am sensitive to smells. I don't use these plug ins.

It's funny cause I am not a sensitive person by nature but my husband loves these things. He thought he could sneak it by me but the second he plugs in one of these nasty smelling things I get a buzzing feeling in my head and want to throw up. Gross!

It isn't funny at all. The kichels seems to be the new appropriate way of addressing issues within the community. See the moose coat thread.

I use Glade plug ins but stick to the vanilla type scent.
Are those also bad for you?
I'm happy I saw this thread bc I was going to order a Scentify because I feel like it'll be more long lasting but I truly dislike their scents... I don't want my house smelling like a clothing store. I like the warm vanilla scent but they don't seem to have it... maybe its hashgacha so this way I won't buy it Smile

I use young living essential oils, but they are pricey…

There is a local grocery store in Monsey they have 2 locations and they also have these scentify sprays, they have it on the ceiling and it keeps spraying very often.
All their fruits/vegetables and baked goods from the bakery tastes like the scent, it’s horrific! In one location they have an open salad bar I once purchased a salad for $35 and could not even swallow one bite!
Aside from it being so unhealthy the scent is so strong and suffocating!

And the takeouts? We bought from one in BP and my kids were spitting out the food! Aside from the health issues, it’s just plain nauseating!
And when my kids go to play at the neighbours who use these, they come home smelling like they bathed in the stuff and makes me gag!
