and bake in the oven - not the usual cooking in tomato sauce?
the mixture is delicious.
want to try plain baked in oven but need a method it should come out good.
soft inside, crispy outside?
how would I bake it?
I know people do it on the george foreman grill but that takes out the fat which I dont want.

I use the same recipe for meatballs and for burgers, and it has egg in it.
I get moist delicious burgers on the grill.
(My step-mom's recipe - has oatbran in it in place of breadcrumbs, and it's delicious. 1/3 cup oatbran to 1 cup breadcrumbs. I've tried it in other recipes too with great results. Healthier too....)

I made a sauceless meatball recently that was really delicious. I made the meatball mixture from the recipe, it had ketchup in the meat for some moisture and flavor and air fried them you could definitly bake instead. Then served with a dipping sauce. Was delicious and not like a burger.

I think you can skip the egg in burgers when you have high quality fresh mince with a certain fat to meat ratio that acts as a binding agent when the meat is mixed together by hand.
Lesser quality meats do require the egg, otherwise ther tend to fall apart on the grill.

I make delicious burgers with regular 80/20 meat from the grocery store. No eggs or binders needed.
My boys love when I make smash burgers on a skillet vs a grill but I have made this many times too and its always a winner
