recipe calls for dissolving dry active yeast in warm water without sugar.
there are no bubbles forming at all. is this normal?
is this due to no sugar?

Sugar helps, put it in a warm place covered with plastic wrap.

I dont want to put in sugar.
does it have to bubble?

Mix it well. You should see a thicker rim around the edges. Doesn't have to bubble.

it thickens but it doesnt bubble?
what temperature do you dissolve?
the package yeast says 110 but recipe says 100?
