Once the combs or clips are in her hair, they won't look cheap. You'd be surprised how many upscale hairdressers order from Amazon. And because they're inexpensive, you can get a few different things and try them out.

order from Ali 3 or 4 (they super cheap) and she can choose when they come. put away others or donate to the hair lady who's usually happy to have. that's what we did.

I've bought necklaces from forever 21 to pin in my hair. You can buy from places like bhldn, Nordstrom etc but it's the same stuff as on Amazon or the Chinese sites (that weren't around when I was a teen). If it will be draped in her hair it will be half hidden anyways.
