I am not a laundry connoisseur but am hoping someone has some ideas for me. My 4.5 year old twin boys tend to get very messy when they play. How do you remove stains from clothing that should be washed only in cold water, without shrinking the clothing or ruining it? Help!

Soak it in oxiclean or spray with shout spray
Cold water is actually better for removing stains anyways

I am wondering if maybe I am soaking incorrectly. Any time I put oxyclean powder in cold water it never dissolves and ends up staining my clothes. Any ideas for me?

Dish soap really breaks down grease and most food stains. Think of the way soap works on a wet greasy plate. Make the stain wet, rub in just a tinge on dawn dish soap (I like to put a dot on my palm and rub my palms together to thin it out, then smear my palm across the stain). Let sit a few minutes and scrub out with a cleaning toothbrush. Once stain is out, rinse out all soap (no soap or suds left) and then wash in machine.
Try to treat stains right away when taking off clothes. If they're not fresh, you may need to let it sit for a few hours and repeat a few times until they come out.

Spray oxi or shout and let it sit. Wash in cold and hang to dry. Spray stains asap.

I soak in shout for a night before washing.
Use cold water and I never air dry, but you can if you want.

In my experience, it leaves a mark on the clothing and ruins the fabric & makes holes.
