Can anyone recommend a gadget that reminds you that you have a baby in the car? Every summer we hear so many tragic stories R”L. It’s really stressing me out.

Look on Amazon for “Steel Mate.” It’s a car seat alarm. There was also a bracelet campaign a while back that one would leave in the car seat a plastic bracelet that says “my baby is in the car” on it and put it on their wrist when the buckle the baby in.
My friend takes her left shoe off every time she has one of her baby grandchildren in the car.

Put your wallet and cellphone on the baby that you for sure won't forget
When using Waze it has a child reminder feature

This is low tech, cheap and really works. I use it whenever I drive with my baby

You can’t ignore it because the baby or car seat is literally attached to your keys.

Can you please provide links to the items you bought to make this? I like how simple it is.
I’d want to do steel mate but it doesn’t seem like it would work well with a car seat that you remove from the car. The sensor is under the car seat cushion so it wouldn’t recognize any change and the alarm would go off even though you took the baby out.

Just put your left shoe in the backseat next to the car seat

I set up a shortcut in iOS that asks a random question aloud ("is there someone in the back seat?" "did the baby fall asleep on the way?" "what is that on the back seat?" "is Estie in the car?" "did you bring the baby with you?" etc)
I make a point of checking and answering out loud so I don't get desensitized.
I have it run whenever CarPlay disconnects (I use CarPlay pretty much any time I drive).
You can also have it run when you arrive at a location, I.e. at home, at work, or at the store, which are the typical places to forget that you brought a baby with you.
