In terms of food they were only allowed to bring one sandwich and a drink. It was only supposed to be for 8 hours. They weren't allowed to pack more food.

Oh gosh 😢 us mums know that you always travel what extra food just in case! I guess they were that tight for space?

In the news conference, he said that there were some emergency rations on board, but it wasn't clear how much.

Capt Frederick says: "They do have limited rations aboard but I can't tell you exactly how much."

There is a small toilet, with a curtain in front of it. When it was in use, the pilot would turn up the volume on the music! I imagine the storage facility for the, um, waste products has limited capacity, so I don't know how that's working now, though I'm sure they're rationing whatever food and water is available very carefully.

Also, those inside were made very well aware about the absolute and very real danger and risks of it, and the possible deadly consequences of something going wrong. They basically took their lives in their own hands and now it seems that unfortunately they made a bad choice. I guess human nature is no one believes the worst case scenario will happen to them….

The supposed cost for each person to do this was approximately $250,000. Mind boggling.

I am asking not about this particular advuture but in general, is it like no man's land and everyone can do what they want without the adventure craft/activity having proper law and code to keep it safe?

Apparently the families will not be able to sue because those who did it signed waivers and were very well warned and aware of the deadly risk involved.

You think a waiver can stop people from suing? If they can prove negligence they can still sue.

Not necessarily. Companies make these kind of waivers all the time (have you ever signed one to go snow tubing or on a ropes course) yet if you were actually injured you could sue and would probably get something. They usually put these kind of documents in place to deter people from suing.

I saw a little clip of what the “submarine” looked like and how it was controlled. I wouldn’t go in it even if you paid me $250,000. What is wrong with those people for going into it?

It would force them to close, to stop putting people in harms way, etc.

It would help people moving forward.

I believe that after this story people will think much longer and harder before signing up for such a trip. Unless if they’re suicidal in the first place.

I don't think anyone who's as suicidal would pay this amount for either an experience of a lifetime, or their death. Although bh I wouldn't know.
