what kind of lock is the right type to buy to lock an electric scooter to a railing/pole?
All the types I see look like they can easily be slipped off, or if someone unscrews the handle bars they can just slip it over?

ONLY a heavy ulock. Don’t even try the others.
They get chopped and stolen in seconds.
Brooklyn is flooded with bike/scooter thieves..(if you live there...or anywhere in crime ridden America)

I just looked at a pic of one - the handle bars can just be wiggled through it, how does it keep it safe?

how does a ulock keep it safe, even if its heavy, it's just a matter of wiggling the bars through it, or unscrewing the handles and slipping it out.

I just bought an expensive scooter and I really don't want it stolen.
unless, is there a certain place on the scooter you can hook the ulock that it won't be wiggled out?

so here's the issue, my boys don't want to have to carry the bulky lock around with them, esp something big and heavy like a ulock, and they are lazy to bend down and lock it through the wheel area. (like when they scoot to shul for mincha etc)

hmmm.
no ideas?
