DD has scaly yucky things on her scalp, not sure how to describe it. How do I know what this is and what I could do to help?

Possibly, take to a dermatologist. Where are you located?

It can also be ringworm which will need antibiotics. Go to a dermatologist.

I googled it and it somehow might look more like clumpy dandruff in a way, but it seems to have bloody edges, and I don’t think it’s from itching. I haven’t noticed her scratching, if yes just a bit.

He is in Nanuet. He may have retired but I believe his daughter Heidi, also a dermatologist, is still in the office.

I was just diagnosed with ringworm on the scalp, but only because it traveled to my back. I had it for years and I was diagnosed with almost everything before they realized it was ringworm.

It's a fungus, so no antibiotics, it would need antifungal cream.
