My kids are finished with camp. The days are long and unstructured.
I saw this game somewhere, geared for toddlers, and I tailored it to my situation. (I have 3 little kids). I had my older daugher take them out for about 15 minutes while I prepared the game. It was a huge hit!
The original game went like this:
You take a long paper (I took regular computer paper, cut in half, and taped the ends together to make a long paper). Write the ABCs on the long paper and then tape it to the wall.
Then you write the ABCs on Stick it notes and place them all around the living room. The toddler has to run around finding the Stick it notes and place each on on the correct letter.
How I adapted it:
For my 6 year old, I wrote 3 and 4 letter words.
For the 9 year old, I did double digit math questions and also shorashim. On the stick it notes, were the answers to the math questions, and the translation of shorashim.
I used a different color stick it note for each kid.
They loved it so much, they wanted to play again.
For the second round, I had my 6 year old find rhyming words.
For those who have toddlers who don't yet recognize letters, perhaps you can draw shapes that he has to match.
