Osah/Otah was the wife of Levi (אותה) - source is Paaneach Raza Pinchas citing midrash

I know a Nitzevet but I think it's strange to name your child "Standing."

I don’t know the actual source, my Rav told me it is.

Tsruya was the mother of Yoav and Avishai and Asael. Mentioned outright in Navi.

Aviya was the mother of one of the kings, mentioned only in divrei hayamim.

Look in the book Ishei HaTanach, it lists everyone in Tanach mentioned in the Gemara or midrash and gives alternate names for them if they exist, with sources.

It seems this is the book many are referring to! We’re going to borrow it and check it out. And thank you all so so much! We’re going through them.

what is the source for the name adina?

Adina, in Jewish tradition, is the mother of Rachel and Leah, while another, Adina daughter of Yovav ben Yoktan, is the wife of Levi. Adina (biblical figure), male given name spelled עדינא, listed in I Chronicles 11:42 as one of the "mighty men" of King David's army.

Interesting! I'd love to know what is the source of these traditions?

It is included in the Jewish apocrypha (the Jewish Annotated Apocrypha reviewed in the yunews a few years ago only includes the apocrypha attributed to the Jews.) But since it is biblical era but not biblical with the kedusha of torah, I agree that Shoshanna does not fit the brief.

Bottom Line

The Apocrypha isn’t Divinely inspired, and is therefore not part of Tanach, and some of its works are even antithetical to Judaism. Other works may indeed contain some valuable information, but they aren’t given any more credence than any other book, and be aware that there have been various additions and deletions made throughout the ages.
