People have very different perspectives on what constitutes a strong secular education, so you may want to be more specific about what you mean.

Personally, something that I use as a shorthand gauge for strength of secular education is the math curriculum. For example, if a high school's math offerings do not include calculus, then I would automatically assume that the school does not have a strong secular curriculum, per my understanding of the word "strong." It still might be relatively strong compared to other options or there might be other compelling reasons to send there.

In my experience, math and writing are often different issues. for example, here in Rochester, my husband took (and excelled in) calculus in his yeshiva, but writing was basically non-existent. That being said, he just graduated from law school. They follow the Regents curriculum requirements, but are definitely not geared towards college.

Ner Yisroel in Baltimore has a few AP options. My son was in Calculus and Statistics last year in 11th grade. He passed his AP Statistics exam (the only AP he took)...

Ok just re read your op, not sure than if Heichal is for you .
It’s not yeshivish , but it’s not MO either
I would say it’s “ frummer version of MTA”
Maybe someone else can explain their hashkada better .

It doesn’t exist. Even the options listed here which are relatively good aren’t that great. Heichal probably is to the left of what you are looking for.

I don't think any of these are too college-oriented. Doesn't mean your kid won't be prepared, though.
