Had to chime in to say it’s fine to buy dips!!! I only buy, I have no time to make them, have no food processor, and need to make life easier and prioritize the real food.
We buy chumus, mild jalapeño dip, babaganush, grilled eggplant, sometimes Spanish eggplant. Love me some eggplant. Pickle dip is fun too.
Yes it’s more expensive, and I budget everywhere, but buying like 2 dips a week/every other week is a luxury of oneg Shabbos for me.

Same, I scrimp every place but dips and a few other shabbos foods we splurge on
I used to make dips and they were so time consuming
Most dips I buy whatever is on sale (chummus, tomato, onion….- all under 3.49 and buy pickle dip full price since my husband loves it (only Menachem’s dip brand) would love a recipe for that but can’t imagine I’ll get it like theirs
