I want to go visit family but so scared to fly bec of current events.
Should I give in to my anxiety and stay home or push through and go?

I flew to & from the nyc area to Florida last week & it was fine. I was not myself & did not do very early or very late flights.

Flying is a high security activity. Much less scary than random activities out and about, in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies. I’m just thinking that this is perfect timing for more hijacked flights and what not..

Hijacking a flight in the US is pretty challenging post-9/11.

I’m actually flying to florida soon also
Tbh not scared, remember Hashem controls everything.
Also think about many flights there are each day, going in and out of each city.
There aren’t many hijacks (which is why one happens, it’s all over the news) and if there was, what would be the chance it would be YOUR exact flight?
Try not to worry

Hello from Florida. Things are very safe here. Or at least as safe as they were before October 7. You really shouldn't have any worries coming here.

Yes, to visit my 90-something y/o mil. No for stam a good time. Nothing to do with hijacking which is not currently a big issue. Just that given the matzav in Israel, I consider stam a vacay inappropriate. Visiting aged relatives is in the way of bikur cholim and not a frivolous pleasure trip.

Were going to Florida next week for vacation.
I don't think it's inappropriate. We discussed it with our Rav.
To answer OP, no, I'm not scared.
I'm not scared to fly to Israel either.

Yes I would, I'm flying this week. Flying is not more dangerous now if you're going to a safe place.
