I want to get a food gift for my daughter's playgroup morahs. There are about four, but since there has been staff turnover since the beginning of the year and I'm not exactly sure who all of the assistants are, I think it would be easiest just to get one general gift and order a platter or similar from somewhere.
Would you prefer real food such as sushi and salad, or something like donuts/ pastries and iced coffee?
Thanks!

I prefer more real food as many times I run out hungry and it's nice to have something healthy. But would love to have the sweet things too as I have a big sweet tooth. It's really sweet that your sending it in for the teachers. It's really generous.

Check in with the school first , I had one day I got 2 dozen donuts.. and while my family appreciates donuts, it was overdone.
Make sure the school isnt also buying at the same day pta is buying, etc

not a morah but may I share my two cents? real food is always appreciated.
donuts is yum and fun but not helpful for a teacher rushing about.

I work in a school and whenever parents send in sushi it's really appreciated. Donuts are too but sushi more. So nice of you!!!

Sushi and salads! So helpful to have real food
I appreciate when parents bring in pastries and coffees too...but I'd prefer real food if given the choice

Depends. Do you want to give your child's teacher a sugar rush or you'd rather have them full and healthy?

So so nice of you!! In theory I think I would say sushi and salads, but if I go into the teacher's room and see sushi or salad sitting out and have no way of knowing how long it's been unrefrigerated, I wouldn't eat it. Just something to keep in mind...

Based on these responses, I think I'll go with real food.
Thank you all!

Just something to be aware of- not everyone eats sushi. Maybe a platter of wraps or something salad. Or soup and rolls

As a teacher, I really don't recommend you call the school and ask if they gave out donuts that day. They will be annoyed with yiu, and its not something they know in adabcee.
Personally, sushi is really a matter of taste.
I'd prefer donuts or another more typical food.
But all are enjoyed!
What abt a fruit platter?

Real food is better, but I would avoid sushi. Sushi is likely to be a 50 50 split between people who eat it and people who don't. Better to go with something with more universal appeal.

I was thinking of doing a small sushi platter and a salad.
Do you think a wrap platter and a salad would be more widely appreciated?
I personally don't go for wraps and would prefer sushi but this isn't a gift for me

A wrap might be easier to pack and take home just in case they’re not hungry or have no time to eat it.

Breakfast muffins may be a nice idea. A drop more nutritious and filling than donuts and not crazy expensive. Muffins and iced coffee is cute!

Real food but not sushi. I always get a little grossed out not knowing how long it's sitting out (or worse, knowing...) when there's a platter of sushi up for grabs at work. Maybe bagels, I don't know. Fruit and veggie platter with dips, it'll go bad eventually but not as much as fish.
