I'm looking for a cookbook or two. I usually find recipes online, but I'm often stumped on what to search for, and I think a cookbook with basic recipes (my kids are NOT adventurous) would be really helpful. I use the Imamother Suppers for a Year and would love something else like that. Only catch is we don't eat much chicken or meat around here. So something with more parve/dairy (not fish either) supper recipes would be amazing! I'm guessing most supper cookbooks would have mostly hundreds of chicken recipes.
So here's what I thought might be useful based on my research, if they have enough non-chicken:
Fresh and Easy, Best of Kosher, Supper 1.2.3
Anyone think one of these would be good for me? Any other suggestions?
I was thinking even non-kosher vegetarian might help, but I'm in Israel, so I think the ingredients and cheeses may be different (and we davka do like cheese). Maybe something Israeli and vegetarian? I think that's too specific a request, no? Any ideas for me?

Dairy made easy by leah shapira and victoria dwek or The dairy gourmet by sarah m lasry, are both good cookbooks that only have dairy.

Oh wow, thanks, why didn't I think of that? They both use mostly basic ingredients? Is either more supper-ish or basic than the other?
In that case, is either Fresh and Easy or Best of Kosher especially useful for other basic pareve recipes? Like for sides and veggies? I'm guessing Supper 1. 2. 3 would be a waste if I'm not using most of their protein options to make a supper. I'm thinking Fresh and Easy, as vegetables are fresh and grains are easy... any thoughts?

I’m happy to suggest ideas for you if you want. Can’t think of a cookbook that will work based on what you said. Maybe a moose wood cookbook? Since it’s vegetarian and family focused food

These look great, thanks! I'm especially excited to try the ziti and tuna casserole. If you have any more like this, I'd love to have a bigger list.

I'll take all the ideas I can get. Thank you! Is Moose Wood very tofu-based? That's the impression I have of that type of cookbook, but maybe it's not a fair impression? I have one Vegetarian cookbook someone gave me years ago, and it's mostly making your own tofu and similar tips.

Thanks, all, you've been really helpful! I made the baked ziti someone posted above and a butternut squash soup I saw on one of the sites above. They were both delicious!!! Problem is 3/5 kids wouldn't touch the soup and 2/5 wouldn't touch the ziti. It's so so frustrating!!! I don't know what magical recipe I expect to find in a cookbook that's not on the World Wide Web though. Should I really make her plain pasta and pancakes every day??

If you have a picky child then it’s best not to make the same thing every night or they won’t learn to expand their palette. You should have something on the table every night you know they might eat. You can also try to slightly adjust based on what they already like- make different types of pancakes to see if there is a type they would like beyond the plain type and then fritters etc
But yes it’s a pain and annoying and time consuming and it’s ok not to have the time and energy for this
Some other dinner ideas;
Mushroom leek Quiche, frittata, lentil stew and rice, Dutch baby pancake with fruit, breakfast burritos, scalloped potatoes and white beans with rosemary, spinach lasagna, mudajara, red lentils with coconut milk and spinach

Thanks for the tips. It's really really annoying and a huge pain! Dc5, 7, 9 will rarely even touch something they're not used to that doesn't look really really plain. I made breadsticks the other day and 9yo was so excited about them. 5yo dipped a bagel in pizza sauce, which I never expected. But if I make something like tuna casserole, I know they won't go near it. But dc1 and 3 will, which is why I might attempt it anyway. But dh doesn't see the point because he said they'll probably stop eating that stuff in a couple of years, too, just like their big bros/sisters. It's true, they ate until age 3 or so. Then they suddenly can't bare to eat anything more interesting than pizza or plain pasta. What is with these delicious children??? (Something like scalloped potatoes I do want to try. Any good recipes?)

I did not enjoy Sarah lasry cookbook. I found the recipes kind of weird.
