Any good ideas?
Should be in or near Brooklyn, Queens or Manhattan
Preferably an outdoor place so as not to have a yichud issue but it is cold so an indoor place that isn't too crowded but wouldn't pose a yichud issue is good too

If you get a warm enough day, what about Central Park or Prospect Park near the water? I believe Central Park has a lovely white bridge over water that could be quite lovely/romantic. Yes, I know it can be cold in winter, but the weather has been so up and down lately (sweaters the other day, but need all the winter gear yesterday), that you might get lucky!
Not sure the exact details, but I think some public gardens (think Botanical Gardens or equivalent) have indoor greenhouses - those might work as well.
Other than that, are there any museums that they both like? Going on a Sunday, many of them would probably be crowded, but a weekday might not be.

Prospect Park currently has a Lightscape program open at nights, but only through January 1. Definitely no yichud issues there, but it's not super crowded, and I'm sure he could find a nice place with privacy and beautiful, memorable surroundings.
