I think this is my favorite thread of all time. I have had Sternberg songs going through my head for the last week! Great memories!

Was anyone here at Sternberg when it was still in Mountaindale? The oldest bunks were on top of a hill. Heading back from an overnight hike one morning, we sang,
"We are the hill, we're feeling ill
What we need now is a sleeping pill
We're gonna go to the doctor
And send Camp Sternberg the bill.
We've just returned
From being burned
And it's about time that you've learned
That when we come back from an overnight
It's a good day's rest we've earned."
There was a staff member nicknamed Kelly who taught us how to make blanket rolls in advance of the hike.
Brenda Lang was the beloved singing counselor.
