Title says it all....Looking for a good parenting book to read. If you can give a line or two why you like that book/what the approach is/ how it helped you, I would really appreciate it. My kids are ages 0-11. Can be jewish or not Jewish.

How to talk so little kids will listen. Meant for the under five set. It's got a lot of easy readable relatable examples and is not judgmental. Like acknowledges you're only going to do the "right" thing some of the time. And that we're all growing

Good Inside by Dr. Becky Kennedy
She believes in the authoritative parenting style- warmth plus boundaries. I find she's very good at getting to the heart of what's going on for the child and giving specific practical strategies. Also very understanding of parents and not out to bash or shame.

Children: The Challenge has a special place in my heart. It was written by a psychologist in the 60's and it's basically an intro to respectful parenting. They're not brand new ideas.
Playful Parenting by Dr. Lawrence J. Cohen (important to note the author because there's a very different book with that title) is also really good. Talks about how to play with children and why.

You gotta read "Are Your hands full" by sara jaraslowitz talks about parenting agest 0-9 in our typical heimish community with every day struggles. she also has a program how to get your kids to listen to you and how to deal with them if they dont. In general she has a great method and shes really heimish so talks my language

Your self confident baby was mind blowing for me. (Specific for infants)
I also really like playful parenting.
It really depends what you want to get out of it... I think I've read every parenting book, they're all good but for different things. Books by Dan siegel are also classic reads

I like Sara Chana Radcliffe's books. Very clear what to do and it's very simple and builds the child at the same time.

Agree with this one. Also, it teaches how to relate to children in an empathetic way, that's more about teaching and guiding than about controlling.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to look up those books and pick some to order or take out of the library if available.

Becky Kennedy takes a lot of ideas from Janet Lansbury and is wayyy wordier. I highly recommend anything by Janet Lansbury

Nonviolent communication. Not a parenting book but applies to everyone including kids.
