Is this normal for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 elementary age kids)? I’m trying to figure out our monthly expenses and made a calculation this is how much we spend. This includes toiletries, paper goods, detergents etc.
Edited to add that this is in Lakewood.

If you can’t afford it, spending less is possible.
I probably spend a little less than that and we are a family of 6.
(250 a week on groceries, + 100 a month on household items)

We're 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby.
Around $150 weekly groceries.
$400 once a month bulk stock up (alternating bingo and Costco monthly)
Plus around $100 a month target diapers, formula, etc )

We are the same size family, live OOT, and aim for under $1500 a month (and don't always succeed 😐)

I've no idea, but we probably spend £1400-1600 a month easily.
Family of 2 adults, 5 kids but 2 are teens. We should too much for sure.
Nearer to £1600 but that includes fuel for my car. Dh's car goes on the business.

That's cheap! We're a family if 5 kh & our total is about $2000, this is being frugal already.

We have similar expenses, about that much weekly plus a big Costco run every few weeks. I just purchase frugally, albeit less frugally than my husband would if I let him. 🙂 We had no money before we had kids so it feels great eating the variety of food that we do.

Brooklyn
2 adults 2 preschoolers, closer too $1000.
I'm playing around with my budget spreadsheet now. Maybe I'll be back to put in a more accurate number.

It really depends what you buy! Some people buy frozen pizza, expensive yogurts, juice, multiple dips, checked lettuce, frozen broccoli, etc. some people don’t buy any of the above. Your grocery bill will vary greatly!
(Also some kids get free lunch in school, free snacks, my office and DH’s have plenty of food, besides supper we don’t consume that much at home)

Does this include fish and chicken for dinners/shabbos?

Yes. I usually shop just once a week. We don't eat a lot of fleishigs during the week, I was in the minority on that poll.

We're two adults and two young kids.
I spend about £100 in the kosher shops, £60 in tesco, £20 on meat and chicken and £70 every 2 weeks on petrol.
That's like £1000 a month.
