Can I freeze challah dough in pans ready to bake? Does it taste better than freezing challah?

I’ve done that and it didn’t come
Out as good, it didn’t rise correctly. I make all the challahs and freeze them fresh. The ones I need for Shabbos I take out of the freezer and before Shabbos I stick one in the oven to get warm- comes out great each week.

Some people here claim to do this all the time with great success. I tried with my regular recipe as well as with a host of added special procedures and did not find either to be successful. Freezing kills some of the yeast , so your loaves won't rise as well unless you use extra yeast to make up for the loss. And you can't keep it frozen very long, either. The longer it's frozen the more yeast dies. You could probably mix some yeast with water and knead it in after thawing the dough. Maybe. I didn't find this to be helpful.
