When I was there, rooms were old but sitting areas new and updated not carpet.

Was there during summer months; nice weather, spacious grounds. Although the bedrooms we stayed in weren't new or modern, they were clean. The main ballrooms and sitting areas had updated decor. Food was tasty, well presented and plentiful. Definitely would recommend as a nice getaway. I am not sure the local activities nearby in the winter.
