My feta cheese smells like smelly socks. Is that normal or has it gone bad? The date on the cheese is in May and it’s been opened for about 2 weeks. The cheese is still perfectly white.

Feta cheese has a very mild smell. Does it smell like regular feta?

Once you open it, it usually only lasts about a week in the fridge, even if the expiration date is later. It freezes really well, for the future!

I usually buy the Tnuva Goat Cheese that’s precrumbled however they haven’t been available for months now. It’s my 1st time trying this company…

I guess it’s not good anymore, oh well.

We dubbed feta cheese either Feet Cheese or Fetid Cheese because it reeks. Some cheeses simply stink, and feta is one of them.

Is that for the crumbled or also the block?
I buy the one in brine and I lasts me a while.

Two weeks open in the fridge is kind of too long for Feta. I would suspect that it's gone off. In my experience Feta has only a slight, rather bland smell. (Those who say it smells, what would you then call mature French or Italian cheeses? I think Feta is rather low on the list of stinkiness in natural cheeses Mr. Green )

Anyway, OP, you could nibble a corner and spit it out for safety, to see if the taste is okay or off.
