Do you know what levels are considered an indication of PANDAS?

My pediatrician said the results are good. I'm looking at them. They show a Anti-DNase B Strep Antibodies number of 101. It should be up to 77. It's flagged as high, but the doctor said it's normal.

Makes sense?

There is no level at which pandas is diagnosed.

Pandas is diagnosed based on symptoms and medical history. Titers can provide a clue but they are not diagnostic. This is according to the official diagnostic guidelines. Unfortunately many doctors don't know this and will still go based off titers.

Titers to a disease generally means recent past exposure or past illness. Many people have very elevated titers because they were just sick or exposed, but they don't have pandas. That is why doctors will often dismiss elevated titers as normal or insignificant, because it's found in the general population as well. Many kids with pandas have normal or no titers to strep, because they don't mount a proper immune response.

Either way, the strep antibodies that we test for are not the antibodies that cause pandas.

All pandas specialists will diagnose based on medical history, current presentation, and response to treatment.

Thx. I called refuah for a pandas specialist recommendation and they told me they can't imagine it's pandas if the strep levels are low.

I'm in Brooklyn.

Bad sudden tics.

Also lately acting weird. Telling me randomly he doesn't like me. A minute later hugging me. Just not the usual.

Try dr visconti in Staten Island he takes insurance.

Or dr michael gabriel he's integrative but doesn't take insurance.

My daughter had the same. Psoriasis after several strep infections in one year.

Sure sounds like pandas. Is the pediatrician being helpful? Have you got her on motrin, benadryl and antibiotics?
