My granddaughter is interested in getting a machine. I am happy to spend $150 or so. I figure if she gets really professional we can always buy a more expensive machine later. Does that make sense?
Just wondering if people have suggestions what's a good model to buy.

I would try the cricut explore air 2. It’s the older one so it is not as expensive as the 3. You can shop around eBay or it’s often on sale in craft stores or Walmart and Amazon. The joy is smaller and less expensive but more limited in what it can do mostly because of its size.

Explore Air 2 is good if you want to make designs that are 8 x 10. But it takes up more room.
Cricut joy can do smaller iron on designs and cards, and closer to the $150 price point.
