Are there any type of minhagim that you do there?
My brother is going next week, totally not religious, but believes in rabbi's blessings, and is going on the last day of the 11 months of our father's (Z"L) passing. It also happens to be the same day that he is going on a very important job interview in NY.

When you get there (or before if he would like), it is customary to write s letter asking for whatever you want. Then you change into non-leather shoes (they have there--no need to bring) and walk into the Ohel. Then you daven for whatever you need (or if he wants to, there is text called Ma'aneh Lashon to be said at Kivrei Tzadikim that he can read).

they also provide yarmulkes for men, and scarves/shawls for women.

many people say Tehillim, give tzedaka, and light a candle as well.

Is it ok for us to ask the Rebbe for things even though he is going there because its the last day of the 11 months and we need to say the special tehillim?
Can I send my brother a typed letter to put next to the kever? Can my mom send him a letter too? and other friends?
Can you ask for a lot of things (big and small) or just one big thing?
Do they have the prayers there in English? or should he bring a siddur with English?

I'm sorry to bombard you with so many questions. Thank you!!

by the way, there's staff there, and lots of other people who'd be happy to help if your brother has questions.

and just to keep in mind for the future for yourself, if out of the NY area: there's www.ohelchabad.org where you can submit a letter (pidyon nefesh) online that will be printed and laid down there.
