I am always washing towels. My kids alwasy dump them on the floor every night after the bath.
I have tried telling the kids to put them on hooks but it hasn't worked because I never knew whose towel it was.

My newest idea is to get each kid their own towel with their name on it. This way I can see immediately whose towel has not been hung onto the hook.

Does anyone know where I can get good towels with the name monogrammed on it without spending too much?

Can you sew on a big initial on towel?

This isn't permanent, but an idea.

Personalization mall has a huge selection, I don’t know the quality of their towels but was happy with their blankets. They always have sales going on.

Just sew their initial.
If 2 have the same initial, sew the first 2 letters, there are solutions.
I sew my kids initials onto the label of their pants and white shirts.
I have 2 kids with the same initial, alef, so one I do alef, and the second child I do lamed (2nd letter of his name).
It doesn't have to be fancy embroidery that costs money.
Or just sew a different colored 'X' onto each towel for each child.

There's something I don't understand though. If your kids were to obediently always put their towels on the hooks, how then would you know whose is who, for the next day's bath?
Why do you only need names if they throw them on the floor?

Different colors is easiest.

Or you can just use a laundry marker. But the kids won't see that easily. The different colors would be easiest for the kids.

I'm not sure I understand your question.
If I see that Chaim's towel is on the floor, I can easily tell him to pick it up. If I don't know whose it is, each kid says it's not theirs ..
I plan to make a chart and say that if anyone's towel is in the floor, they don't get a check...or some system like that.

I understand that you want names in order to know who left their towel on the floor.
I was just wondering how you know whose towel is who, when they are hung on the pegs.

Because if you know whose towels are on the pegs, then you can know by process of elimination whose towels are on the floor.

I personally thing that getting names embroidered on towels simply for knowing who put the towel on the floor is a waste.
Why not have a chart up in the bathroom with each child's name, and a sheet of star stickers attached to the chart, and each child who hangs up their towel, sticks a star on their name. When they get 10 stars, they get bubble bath in their bath or ice cream after dinner, or whatever you want.

Unless you think the kids will stick the sticker on their chart and not hang the towel - in this case that won't work!

Stick a piece of paper on the wall:
Moshe - blue
Chaim - green
Sarah - red
Rachel - yellow

Or label the hooks in matching colors to the towels- wrote Moshe’s name in blue above his hook
