My one and a half year old is going through an extremely picky stage, and it is so frustrating. I have a low tolerance for pickiness, because I think kids who are too picky are spoiled. It gets me so upset because I’ll offer him different options of food and he refuses. I don’t think I should have to be making 3 suppers a night for him because he decides that he is not in the mood of them. Any ideas or support?

Do you spoon feed him? Or do you put it on a plate for him to feed himself?

He's picking up on your pressure. You really have to have no pressure around food and then they're more willing. Division of responsibility by Ellen Sattern is great. Accounts like kids.eat.in.color have good ideas. Basically you don't make 3 suppers, just 1 safe food that he'll for sure eat and then you offer the other foods with no pressure and can do fun things like dips, on kabob sticks, in different shapes, utensils, cocktail picks etc

Are you on Instagram?
I've stumbled upon some accounts by children-focused dieticians who share lots of ideas & tips on how to avoid picky eating/encourage openess.

I put it on his high chair for him to feed himself.

I just read that iron anemia in children can cause poor feeding and pickiness maybe try giving her red meat and chicken liver a few times a week
