My eldest is going to be finishing 7th grade soon and I feel like in no time at all we will be knee deep in the high school discussion. We live OOT and we hope that we will have options in a few places, local may be an option but we have not had that conversation yet.
A few key issues with my son are
1)He has communication issues (he's has speech therapy most of his life)
2)He takes medication daily, when not medicated he just gets VERY silly (not angry or defiant)
3)He is naturally very introverted, doesn't really socialize, spends all Shabbos reading.
Other than that he's generally regarded as a "good kid" and "smart"
Did going away/dorming for yeshiva help your introverted son blossom or did he socially isolate more? Is going with familiar boys more important or less important?
