I'm not posting this in the over 50 group, because who knows? Maybe some youngsters are into oldies...

So there's this line going through my head, this young girl is singing to herself,
"Nobody knows the trouble I've seen, nobody knows but"
which is from an African American Spiritual, and you can guess where that goes,

But in this scenario, she remembers someone, maybe a childhood friend (I'm thinking here, could it be Darla of Little Rascals?), maybe an old flame, maybe even her manager (is she a performer?).

And she says, "Nobody knows but... " whoever it is (a human not a deity as in the original song) and then of course she calls this person and all is forgiven etc....

I'm pretty sure it's a line from a movie, maybe even an ad that I saw numerous times in my TV-watching youth (es chata'ai ani mazkir...).

Really wish someone could tell me they know what I'm talking about...

Thanks, honey. I have never seen the Lion King.
I grew up in the 60s & 70s so I'm talking about way back.

Does the Lion King song refer to Yoshke? Or some substitute?

I've actually never heard it with any religious references. I've heard "nobody know the troubles I've seen, nobody knows my sorrows" and that's all I've ever heard. It's been used a million times over in all sorts of videos.

But I'm not familiar with the scene you're describing.

They ask it here, too. It’s a Louis Armstrong song.
