my 3 year old fits 4t and height wise a 24 month strechie
it wasn't washed yet. she and her brother he's 4 wear the same size 4. I guess its cut differantly for a girl and when she gets older her tummy will go away. based on where her brother is now I can guess where she will be.
what gets me nuts is that if I buy from a different store like not oldnavy or tcp. pants don't fit a size 4 is way too big, and 4t is too small he looks silly.

I used to be able to get away buying a size or two ahead, but now DD is getting rather independent/picky about the colours and materials (no itchy wools, no heavy tights)
so I can only do this for very basic things.
The other thing is, you'll need to keep a list of what you bought for what age. I found a
few items the kids outgrew even before they got to wear them.

with skirts I'm having luck also shirts, but my sons pants, either he looks like I can't afford to buy him new pants or gangsta, gangsta isn't so bad but some pants look really silly. he is also very skinny. I guess I should buy slim. his brother has a lot of pants to grow into!
basically I can guess how big they will be. I also like adjustable waists. skirts can be long. dresses and dd's tummy is an issue. she wears larger dresses than ds would if he was a girl, I measure clothing against him.
I do have an informal list. of what I have and what I need.

I'm trying to figure out if there is some way I can buy a set of matching sweaters lets say, have ds1 wear the smaller one now, and then next year, he will wear the bigger one, and ds2 will wear the smaller one. but somehow I dont think I'll be able to do that till they are one size apart....unless someone can think of a better solution.
