In an effort to be supermom I decided to bleach my sons tzitzi's. The t-shirt part came out beautiful but the strings turned yellow. Are they ruined?

Did they also turn brittle? (they may have if they're wool)

No brittleness just a yellow color.

Yellowed coloring of the strings does not make the tzitzit unkosher...I just had all my sons tzitzit checked, and its amazing what is still considered kosher.

Bleach works well on cotton and linen, but not on wool!!!!
I use Vanish Oxy Action white for those things... comes out wonderful.

is Vanish Oxy action okay to use on wool? It says it's not for wool or silk.
