Purple Cabbage Salad
from a poster on our site but I can't find the thread anymore !

Veggies:
1 bag purple cabbage
1 cut up red pepper
cut up scallions
handful of nuts, toasted/sweet if you can

Dressing:
olive oil
1/4 cup vinegar, any kind
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup ketchup - optional, but adds an interesting tang to the salad
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp mustard
sprinkle of salt
clove of garlic
sesame seeds, to taste
croutons, any kind; optional

Mix the veggies and your dressing and chill. Add the croutons right before serving so they don't get soggy.

Thanks, I was looking for an interesting salad for Shabbos and this just literally popped up as soon as I signed in, so I will hurry and go put this together before Shabbos comes in!

I know that this was posted awhile ago but is it dried mustard or the condiment? and do you crush the garlic clove or mince it or slice it?

Yes...toast the almonds, it's better. You need

1/4 cup olive oil (I used 1/8 & it was fine!)
1/4 sugar
3/4 cup BOILING water
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper

Mix together, but it must cool completely (I stuck it in the freezer!) before you pour over the veggies.

Why not? Add some halved cherry tomatoes or shredded carrot for color.
