Just wanted to say that I have made this a few times recently for dh and guest and no one can get enough of it. It is relatively simple to make and absolutely delicious. If anyone needs the recipe just let me know.
Btw, I don't make that many recipes from it but it was worth the almost $40 for this recipe alone, it is that good!

I will definitely have to look up that recipe and give it a try. Meatballs is all my kid ever wants to eat so I might as well try making them a different way for variety.

Sorry if it's a little late but I was busy making donuts and cookies.
Ok here it is:
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1/4 cup beer
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
BATTER: 2/3 cup beer
2 eggs beaten
4 TBS. oil
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
oil for frying
Mustard sauce: 1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 mustard (I use spicy brown)
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (I never do this because I don't have it).
In a large bowl mix first seven ingredients well. Shape into 1/2 inch balls.
Batter: Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Dip each meatball into batter and coat well.
In a 10 inch skillet heat oil approx 1 inch deep. Fry meatballs about 3 minutes in hot oil. (I usually turn them over too). Remove from pan and drain on paper towel.
Mustard sauce: prepare sauce by mixing all ingredients together in a small bowl.
To serve as hors d'oeurves place sauce in small bowl in the center of a large plate and place meatballs around it.
Yum!!

I only fried it a minute or two and baked the rest.
It actually worked out great b/c the meat was still raw ( I don't know how they can cook fully in three minutes)
so when I put them in the oven to warm up for Shabbos they finished cooking without drying out.
