My husband mentioned this following thought to me, he said it comes from seforim but doesnt know which..he heard it hearsay..So if anyone knows of its validity then please share:

chanukah is an auspicous time to conceive because from chanukah comes the word chana and what remains is a vov and a chof which equal 26 which is the gematria of sheim havaya- Hashem's holy name-, and we know chana (shmuels mom) had difficulty conceiving, - she was mespalel to Vov Chof---Hashem, and Hashem blessed her with shmuel. so chanukah has that koiach so it is an auspicous time to be blessed from Hashem to conceive.

Bnei Yissascher (Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov) says that Zos Chanuka (the 8th night) is especially auspicious - fertility. But it's not like you're going to schedule going to the mikva. That's up to G-d. So what is the point? Can someone explain?

And it's particularly uninspirational to know this when you did go to the mikva then and did not conceive. Sad
