The previous years my dh got the school supplies since we're living here, but this year I did. I did not realize how much it cost and for that matter, I had to get for 5 kids, even for the 2 year old. He needed besides 2 year old things like diapers, he needed things like a notebook, shaving cream, etc... That's not even my point. Once school started, which was yesterday, they came home with more things they need and we have to buy the school books. My dh said that I knew it was coming, which I did, but WOW!! It's crazy!! This is all besides paying for school obviously. One of my ds's came home with a list he needs for art, but I told him he'll have to wait for next week because I paid for school today and I'm all tapped out. On top of that, they raised tuition and lunch, which is no surprise. Just venting!!

That is if you have target or walmart near you or even discount stores. The "discount stores" that are here have things that are cheap, but also cheapy. If they sell anything needed for school, it's the same price as in other places.

I have alwsy wanted to visit Argentina.
Can I come visit and BRING you all the school supplies your heart desires??!
I am a teacher and I am the one who makes the %^$# school supply lists.
Let me explain it fromt he Morah's perspective:
For years I supplied all the little extras from my own pocket.
No whining I just wanted nice stuff for my students.
Fast forward 18 years and NOW I have a house and mY OWN kids...
NO MORE extra $$$.
NOW my school supply list is more extensive
The cost of living has gone up
My salary is minimal
BUT, that's MY story.
I would be thrilled toivisit you and bring you all the glue sticks, markers, crayons, scissors, notebooks and 2 pocket folders your heart desires!!!!!

valleymom, you're always welcome. I know I can get supplies from the states, but a lot of the things are very explicit and they only sell it here, like certain notebooks and looseleaves. I don't know if I ever even saw folders here.
They have so much fun with the shaving cream. They mush it in their hands and everything.
